-November 25, 2025 - Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving draws near, with its cherished traditions of feasts, family gatherings, and heartfelt gratitude, it's an ideal moment to celebrate America's resurgent energy policy and its profound impact on our great nation. In this season of thanks, we honor our unshakable faith in the future, the reliable fuel that powers our daily lives, and the strong families that anchor our communities, in part made possible by the unwavering dedication of USA Energy Workers.

For generations, the hardworking men and women of energy regions like the Permian Basin, the Bakken, the Marcellus Shale in Appalachia, and the Gulf of America have powered our nation’s progress. With true American grit, they have built offshore platforms, onshore rigs, extensive pipelines, and critical infrastructure that made the United States the world’s energy leader. Proudly, we are meeting the moment.

The current boom in AI and data-center development relies heavily on this dependable supply, fueling America's next era of innovation and global competitiveness. These facilities demand substantial power, underscoring the critical link between energy security, AI advancement, and data-center expansion. Without reliable, affordable, and secure energy, our nation could face supply-chain vulnerabilities and significant setbacks. We know how to meet these challenges head-on. In all our endeavors, we remain productive, responsible, innovative, and proudly pro-American.

However, we must remain vigilant, because threats still lurk. Just 300 or so days ago, our energy landscape was bleak. We faced burdensome overregulation and anti-fossil-fuel agendas that threatened jobs, drove up costs for hardworking families, and deepened our dependence on foreign adversaries. We quickly went from “oh no” about producing at home, to “oh shoots!” at the pump, to “OPEC, can you bail us out?” It was a direct assault on our energy workers.

Today, thankfully, we have hope, and renewal is sweeping the land. Thanks to bold executive actions, judicial victories, and meaningful legislative progress under principled leadership, we are reclaiming energy dominance. We have seen policymakers begin to recognize that permitting certainty is not a talking point in Washington, but a lifeline for the men and women who put on hard hats and steel-toed boots and go to work each day.

Recent bipartisan action on the SPEED Act is a good example. On November 20, 2025, the House Natural Resources Committee advanced permitting certainty provisions in the SPEED Act by voice vote. That vote sent a clear message that lawmakers understand how critical it is to provide timely, predictable decisions for American energy projects. When Congress moves in a bipartisan way to strengthen our permitting framework, it signals that America is serious about keeping investment here at home, avoiding needless delays, and giving energy workers confidence that if they do their job safely and responsibly, government will do its job fairly and predictably.

Clear rules of the road and reliable timelines help us in Balancing the 3Es®: Environment, Energy, and Economy by allowing responsible projects to move forward while protecting our lands and waters. This is exactly the kind of practical, bipartisan progress that keeps our country competitive and keeps our workers on the job.

By unleashing our God-given domestic resources, declaring emergencies where needed, fortifying grids, improving permitting, and investing in infrastructure, we are treating U.S. energy workers as heroes, not villains. There is proof in the pie: gasoline prices hover around three dollars per gallon, a multi-year low per GasBuddy, easing burdens on families and businesses.

In addition, the administration noted on November 6 that this Thanksgiving feast costs about three percent less than last year, with dinner rolls down 22 percent, frozen vegetables down 15 percent, and staples like turkeys, stuffing, and pies also cheaper. That is one more reminder that sound energy policy and a strong American workforce show up where it matters most: at the kitchen table.

The administration recognized October as National Energy Dominance Month and the American Petroleum Institute (API) launched a national campaign highlighting US oil and gas workforce. While this designation and campaign salutes USA Energy Workers, the hard hats and steel-toed boots fueling our homes, our economy, and our national defense, we believe their efforts deserve daily recognition. The unassailable truth is that responsible energy production benefits the environment, supercharges the economy, and fortifies our security.

We should never tire of reminding our nation: American energy is a force for good. It reinvests in our land and waters through conservation funding. The Great American Outdoors Act channels $1.9 billion annually from energy revenues to restore parks and refuges, plus $900 million for conservation, much of it from federal oil and gas. Every barrel helps preserve trails, wetlands, and habitats, proving that stewardship is achieved through wise resource use.

We are also seeing environmental triumphs: U.S. emissions dropped 17 percent from 2005 to 2023 amid soaring output, thanks to innovation. For example, the Gulf of America boasts low carbon intensity, showing how American leadership cuts global emissions while bolstering energy security.

These combined wins revitalize energy hubs from coast to coast, restoring confidence in domestic production and reinforcing our commitment to Balancing the 3Es®: Environment, Energy, and Economy. With faith in our workers, we envision reliable, homegrown fuel strengthening families, fueling growth, and ensuring abundance.

Yet we cannot become complacent. Overregulation, permitting gridlock, and renewed dependence on foreign energy are dangers that could return if we lose focus. That is why efforts to modernize and bring certainty to our permitting system are so important. When Congress and the administration work together to provide clear, timely decisions, they are not doing a favor for companies; they are honoring the men and women in the field who simply ask for a fair chance to build and operate the infrastructure that keeps America moving.

It is easy to get wrapped up in the noise, so let’s be intentional about taking a pause this Thanksgiving. Let us gather around the table and champion a real American energy story: a bountiful harvest that fuels faith, energizes families, and secures abundance for generations to come. That is something we can be truly thankful for!
